Among the first votes were Olympian Manu Bhaker and former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. According to Khattar, he is optimistic that the BJP would secure 50 out of the state’s 90 assembly seats. Congress leader Deepender Hooda took a dig claiming that last time, the BJP declared it will cross 75 seats, but stopped at 40 seats. “You can imagine the number of seats they will get, considering that they were claiming to get over 50 seats today,” he continued.
The main contenders in Haryana are the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP, Congress, and the pre-poll alliance of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP) and the Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP).
In all 90 assembly constituencies, 1,031 candidates are running for office, and 20,632 polling places have been set up for voting. In the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections, 2,03,54,350 people in the state will be able to exercise their right to vote. Ahead of the assembly election, security has been intensified.
In October 2019, the most recent Assembly elections were held. After the election, Manohar Lal Khattar became the Chief Minister of the state when the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Jannayak Janta Party merged to form the administration.
Can the BJP hold onto power for a third term in a row? Or will Congress make a reappearance after a ten-year absence? Who will be the CM of Haryana after him? let see what happen in Haryana Election Voting 2024.
