Atishi, 43, pledged to lead the government for the next four months until the upcoming elections, emphasizing that “Bharat ruled with Lord Ram’s ‘khadaun’ (sandals) on the throne.”
In a symbolic gesture, Atishi placed an empty chair next to her to honor her party chief, Arvind Kejriwal. “This chair belongs to Arvind Kejriwal,” she stated confidently. “I believe the people of Delhi will bring him back after four months.”

“My pain now is the same as Bharat’s when Lord Ram went into exile,” said Atishi. In the same way that Bharat ruled while wearing Lord Ram’s sandals for fourteen years, I shall lead the government of Delhi for the next four months.
Atishi stated that Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal should be the head of Delhi’s municipal assembly and expressed the hope that he will be re-elected. Arvind Kejriwal is the chief minister of Delhi and holds the position of chair. I’m hoping Delhi voters will choose him to be the city’s mayor once more. The chair will stay in this office till Arvind Kejriwal arrives, according to ANI, which quoted her. Atishi took a seat in a different chair from Kejriwal’s.

Atishi has retained the 13 portfolios she held in the previous government, including education, revenue, finance, power, and public works. Saurabh Bharadwaj has been assigned eight departments, the most after Atishi steps , which include health, tourism, and art and culture. New member Mukesh Ahlawat will oversee labour, SC and ST affairs, employment, and land and building departments.
