International tech giants Google and Nvidia have announced plans to increase their presence in India, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), which is a significant boost for the nation’s technology sector. The statements came after a roundtable discussion attended on Sunday at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CEOs of Nvidia and Google, and CEO about AI in India.
As part of a larger initiative to fortify relations in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), AI in india quantum computing, and semiconductors, Prime Minister Modi met with top executives from renowned tech companies, including Google and Nvidia, during his three-day visit to the US. Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Nvidia CEOs, Sundar Pichai and Jensen Huang, respectively, praised Modi for his visionary “Digital India” program, which seeks to leverage technology to propel development. They also emphasized how AI has the potential to revolutionize a number of important industries, including healthcare, education, and agriculture, where it can greatly increase productivity and quality of care.

Pichai emphasized Modi’s dedication to using AI for the good of Indian society in his remarks following the meeting. The Prime Minister has made it plain what he wants AI to do for the Indian people. Pichai said, “He is pushing us to investigate how AI can transform industries like healthcare and education while guaranteeing the infrastructure to support this transition.” He added that Google is determined to increase its AI expenditures in India.
Sundar Pichai highlighted Google’s commitment to “Make in India” and “Design in India,” noting that Prime Minister Modi has consistently encouraged the company to focus on local AI applications. “We’re excited to do more in India, especially in response to the Prime Minister’s call to develop AI solutions tailored to the country’s specific needs,” Pichai said.
Echoing this sentiment, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized India’s potential to be a leader in AI adoption, citing the nation’s vast talent pool of computer scientists and innovative startups. “India is home to some of the brightest minds in the world, and AI offers an incredible opportunity for the country,” Huang remarked.
Huang went on to describe Nvidia’s intentions to expand its presence in India, especially through collaborations to build out AI infrastructure. In order to satisfy the increasing demand for AI workloads, Nvidia has already teamed with Yotta Data Services, which is anticipated to extend its GPU resources to 32,768 units by 2025.Huang also emphasized Nvidia’s partnerships with Indian educational establishments, pointing out that Nvidia AI Centers of Excellence are currently housed in each Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
