Man Falls to Death
In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old man lost his life after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Hyderabad while chasing a dog. The victim, identified as Uday, was staying at the VV Pride Hotel, located within the jurisdiction of the Chanda Nagar Police Station. The entire incident, which occurred around 12:30 am on Monday, was captured on the hotel’s CCTV cameras, and police are investigating the matter.
According to police reports, Uday had come to Hyderabad with his family and was residing in Ashok Nagar, Ramachandrapuram. He had checked into the VV Pride Hotel on Sunday to spend some time with his friends. While on the third-floor balcony, Uday noticed a dog roaming the corridors. In an attempt to chase the dog, he accidentally slipped and fell through an open window, leading to his death.
The CCTV footage revealed the sequence of events. Uday was seen spotting the dog in the corridor and then chasing it across the floor. As he pursued the dog, one of the window sections was open, and Uday, unable to control his momentum, slipped through the opening. His friends, present at the time, rushed to help him after realizing what had happened. One of his friends was seen peering out of the window before running downstairs to alert others and get assistance.
Despite their efforts to rush Uday to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival due to severe injuries from the fall. His body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The tragic event has raised questions about how the dog gained access to the third floor of the hotel. Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing the CCTV footage for further clues. The police have also launched a formal probe into any possible negligence on part of the hotel management.
This heartbreaking incident highlights the need for stricter safety measures in hotels, such as ensuring windows are securely closed and preventing animals from accessing restricted areas. It also raises concerns about hotel management’s responsibility in ensuring guest safety. Authorities are expected to take necessary action based on the investigation findings.
